How to choose in five questions

  1. Does it work with your EHR? Copy-and-paste is fine for a solo practice. Groups usually need notes written straight into the record.
  2. Is it built for your specialty? Check the templates for your note types — a psychiatry intake and an orthopaedic follow-up need very different structure.
  3. Where does patient data go? In the US, ask for a signed BAA (HIPAA). In the UK, check UK GDPR and NHS requirements. In Canada, provincial privacy law (such as PHIPA in Ontario). In Australia, the Privacy Act.
  4. How much editing does each note need? A scribe only saves time if you trust the draft. Test it on your own real-world consultations during the free trial.
  5. What does it really cost? Look for note caps, annual-only prices and per-encounter fees — not just the headline monthly price.
Before you start any trial: tell patients the consultation is being recorded and get their consent, as your local rules require.
